Ski Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada

Newfoundland and Labrador encompasses a very large area on the Atlantic coast of Canada. It is home to 95% of the Atlantic Puffin, the provincial bird of Newfoundland and Labrador.

It is also home to the Newfoundland dog which is equipped to handle the harsh winters and cold waters with its heavy coat.   One of our favourite pets, the Labrador dog, is also believed to have originated from Newfoundland where they were once called the St. John’s dog or lesser Newfoundland dog.

This is a place of rugged natural beauty, of ice-bergs and whales.  The capital city is St. John’s.  It also has some excellent skiing, with Marble Mountain offering just about everything the most avid skier or boarder could hope for outside of the Rockies.

They have child care facilities, lessons and rentals and children’s programs and lodging is available close by.   All this, plus you have views over the estuary and Humber River.  This mountain has a lot to offer, with good runs for beginners and intermediates and plenty of challenge for advanced skiers.  Not to mention the opportunity to find some powder with cat skiing!   Web site:  www.skimarble.com.
