Belize

Previously known as British Honduras, Belize is located on the eastern coast of Central America, south of Mexico, on the Caribbean Sea. Home to the second largest barrier reef, it is a very popular travel destination for water sports enthusiasts. The coral reefs and cayes provide excellent SCUBA diving and snorkeling.
Fishing, hiking, birdwatching, caving, kayaking and canoeing are popular activities in Belize and wildlife enthusiasts enjoy trekking through the rainforests. The Mayan history and temples will interest history and architecture enthusiasts. Many visitors also enjoy the Carnival in Belize City in September.
The main language is English although Spanish and other languages are also spoken.
